Play Care was established in 1971, originally as a cooperative mission of the First Congregational Church, allowing parents the opportunity to participate in various community events and activities.  Since that time, Play Care has developed into a fully-equipped, state licensed day care facility and pre-school with a large experienced staff of teachers, aides and our Director, Xann Palmer. We have maintained the close relationship with families with our robust volunteering program.

Play Care is located at 210 Orchard Ridge Road, Chappaqua, NY in the First Congregational Church building. Our program has 2 levels of classroom spaces, both of which are above grade so our classrooms are filled with natural light.

Additionally, Play Care provides a level of security by having a centrally wired alarm system and locked security doors at the program’s entrance.  Only our staff members and enrolled families are assigned key fobs eliminating the entry of unauthorized visitors.

We have a variety of spacious and enclosed outdoor playground spaced that are used exclusively by Play Care during our operating hours.  This includes a separate and fenced in Outdoor Nature classroom to allow multiple groups to play outdoors simultaneously yet be separated for supervision safety.  We also have access to the large meeting room of the church, Centennial Hall, for special events such as our annual Open House, large group meetings, or program wide special events.  Play Care’s spaces meet or exceed OCFS regulatory standards.
